Letter from the President Pauline Graff

Dear County Auditors:

Happy New Year!  I can’t believe it is 2018 already.  Going through the Auditor Directory, I have counted 21 Auditors who will end their second term this year.  That is 168 years of experience leaving office on December 31st.  I am sure for all of the 21, including myself, this year is going to be bittersweet.  I feel so fortunate that I was able to have this opportunity to serve the taxpayers of my county.

Then there are 34 Auditors who are finishing their first term in office.  I hope that the experience and knowledge they have gained will lead them to run for their 2nd term.  We also have eight Auditors who were caucused in to finish a term of the former Auditor, and trust they too, will continue serving their counties.

This year is a short session for our Legislators, so we do not feel there will be a lot of bills affecting our office this year.

We are looking forward to our two conferences this year, the Spring conference in May at the Grand Wayne Center, Fort Wayne and the Fall conference at the Belterra Resort, Florence.  We are also working on having a north and south district meeting.

Our dues letter will be forthcoming.  Please make sure that these are paid as soon as possible.   Our Association Treasurer this year is Vicki Urbanik, Porter County Auditor.  Make sure you are directing your payments for dues and conferences to her this year!

As always, if you have any questions, please contact your board members or District Vice President.  We are here to help!

Best always,

Pauline E. Graff
President Indiana County Auditor’s Assoc.
